Why Diátaxis
Diátaxis organizes documentation by what the reader needs in the moment, not by feature. The four modes each serve a different need:
- Tutorials build skills through guided practice.
- How-to guides solve a specific problem.
- Reference answers “what are the facts”.
- Explanation builds understanding.
Keeping these separate stops pages from trying to do everything at once — the most common cause of documentation that is hard to use. Krumware adopts Diátaxis across all documentation sites (standard: PAAP-203).
